The Town of Scituate has been awarded a $4,563.80 grant from the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation (RIRRC) to support a new recycling education and outreach campaign. The SSC developed and submitted the grant application, with the Town serving as the official recipient of the funding.

Perhaps most importantly, students are learning that environmental responsibility isn't just something they read about in a textbook. It's something they can practice themselves, every day, one lunch tray at a time. Those habits can follow them home, too.

This summer, the Scituate Department of Public Works completed improvements to 2.36 miles of Old Plainfield Pike, from the Foster town line to Route 12, using an innovative Hot In-Place Recycling process rather than conventional road reconstruction.
